Not too long ago, Dave Rusin was President of a major phone company. That's when he realized things could be done much better—just not at a phone company.
So Dave founded American Fiber Systems, believing that—for things to be done right—the service and infrastructure had to be fundamentally different from the ground up.
His ideas were simple: You have to own your own network. And you have to treat each and every person as you'd want to be treated yourself.
With this vision, AFS was founded in August of 1999, funded in April 2000, and proudly gained its first customer in November of that year. We now own fiber optic networks in 9 metropolitan areas with over 76,000 fiber miles.
Despite our growth, we still answer phones without the use of auto-attendants. Still stick by our price quotes and install dates. And still treat each and every customer the way we would want to be treated.
Because if we didn't do that, we might as well all be working for the phone company.
