Despite his vast knowledge of sales management and the intricacies of telecommunications networks, Mike Rosato believes something else has been far more instrumental in his success: His knack for building rapport.
“I love meeting people and making friends of strangers,” relates Mike. “Whether it’s a potential customer or the guy sitting next to me on the plane, I’ve always just had a natural enjoyment of people and their stories.”
After a career in the Navy, Mike earned his MBA from the Simon School of Business. Since then, he worked for several of the country’s top telecommunications companies before settling at AFS. Mike’s love of people meshes well with the company he’s chosen to work for. Mike says, “I love the fact that it’s easy to get things done within AFS and to respond quickly to customers. We’re small enough that you can pretty much get to know everyone, and we work exceptionally well together.”
Q: What is something most people don't know about you?
Mike: I taught at the college level (at the University of Rochester, my alma mater) when I was a Naval Officer.
Q: Who was the greatest influence in your life?
Mike: My Dad. I’ve always admired his sense of humor and his ability to connect with people.
Q: If you could do any job in the world, what would it be?
Mike: I’d be the public relations director for the New York Giants, a history teacher, or pro golfer on the Champions Tour.
